Resolution in my favor with nothing to ship back
I had a conflict with a seller. The short of it is: he sent me electronic gift certificate for what was supposed to be an item. Anyway, Ebay resolved the case in my favor. They offer me two choices on the resolution center: give a tracking number or close the case. Since there is nothing to ship back i can't give a tracking number. if I close the case, aren't I saying this issue is resolved. I emailed the seller and asked for my refund, but now they aren't answering, of course. I'm not sure what to do next.|||"electronic gift certificate" It sounds like Paypal does not realize this is a digital delivery/electronic email gift certificate which I do not believe is allowed or covered by Paypal's buyer protection. The reason is exactly for this reason. Read here Link (click the word link) "Gift cards policy In this article Policy overview What are the guidelines? Why does eBay have this policy? Policy overview You can sell most gift cards on eBay, though there are a few restrictions. This includes things like the number of gift cards you can offer at a time, the maximum dollar amount of the gift card, and the type of cards you can list. For more details, review our guidelines below. Make sure your listing follows these guidelines. If it doesn't, it may be removed, and you may be subject to a range of other actions, including restrictions of your buying and selling privileges and suspension of your account. What are the guidelines? Allowed Gift cards for a travel agency (For gift cards for travel services like airline tickets, see the guidelines in the Restricted section below.) Paper-based gift certificates Phone cards for minutes (For cards with a dollar amount, see the gift card guidelines in the Restricted section below.) Restricted Collectible gift cards with no redemption value can be listed, as long as sellers specify in the listing that there's no dollar amount on the card. For stores or companies going through bankruptcy or going out of business, you can list their gift card only if it's still being accepted as a form of payment. If there's an expiration date, be sure to specify it in your listing. Gift cards can be listed as long as you meet all of the following requirements: The card’s dollar amount is $500 or less. You have the card in hand at the time you list it. You offer only one gift card per listing. You have only one gift card listing at a time, even if you have more than one eBay account. However, in some cases, authorized resellers or direct suppliers are allowed to list gift cards without these restrictions. Gift cards for travel services (such as airline tickets, lodging, and so on) have to be listed in the Travel > Other category. For more details, see our travel policy. Not allowed Gift card codes or electronically delivered gift cards Prepaid credit cards (or money cards) from American Express, Discover, MasterCard, or Visa. For details, see our credit cards policy. Store or merchandise credit in the form of a receipt"|||I would call Paypal and discuss it with a dispute resolution Supervisor. Since the item is not allowed on Ebay and should have been reported, pulled by Ebay, I do not know if Paypal will respond to the claim. Paypal Buyer Protection link Link|||I would print out the certificate or whatever was emailed to you, put it in a bubble envelope and return it to the seller via First Class Mail Parcel with Delivery Confirmation. Shouldn't cost you very much, then you provide the delivery confirmation number, you win, and you get your money back.|||And yes, if you close the case w/out providing a DC number, you get ZERO from the seller.|||And in the process commit fraud.|||In my mind - she's returning what was given to her that "didn't work." I don't see it as fraud. The seller is the fraudulent one.|||
