question for the dvd gods - are promo sets legal/legit?

Hi - I've been waiting impatiently for the next installment of a favorite Showtime series to be sold on dvd. As it was not available on Amazon, I gave ebay a shot. What I'm finding are a small number of "promo sets". They all appear to have been watched 1 or 2 times. Has anyone here purchased a promo set in the past? Do you know if I should have any concerns about the legality of buying any? Anything else you think one should know? Thanks in advance.|||Perfectly legal. Be aware that promo copies often feature plain/generic packaging, and not the final (retail) art. ;^)|||And if they're screening copies they may have the company logo flashed on the screen several times throughout the show.|||Thanks bunches for the replies.
