How to make better use of B2B website
E-commerce has become an irreversible method to do business, and it induces more and more B2B websites. Many people had done their business on the platform of B2B website; however, some customers complain that there is no order form B2B website. In my point of view, the reason people failed to get any order from B2B website is mainly because they don't know how to use it. In order to help people to get better use of B2B website, I’d like to give some tips here: Above of, register some famous B2B websites, such as www.cycbiz.com and www.ecplaza.net. There are lots of B2B websites available nowadays; you need to check out which is better. Next, updating your products’ information frequently to ensure your offers are on the top rank. Including repost business opportunities in each day and renew your products’ photos every week, and make sure the photos you upload are clearly. Thirdly, use keywords skilfully. It is unwisely to use the ambiguity key words, for there may have thousands of information have the same key words with yours, and if you set a more definite key word you may rank first in case the seekers search by definite words. Last but not least, seize every inquiry. While inquiring with you the buyer may have inquired many other suppliers; you need to make the buyer believe you are the right person he/she is looking for.|||Lee, all very good suggestions. I'm sure this will be helpful to those considering a website of thier own.
Automated Responces To Best Offers
I have to say that automated responces defeat the purpose of the best offer system. Several times I have run out of offers on a best offer situation and been within 15% of the buy it now price. Isn't the point of the best offer system, the ability to work out a price with the seller through negociation. That being said why does ebay allow automated responces that just decline an offer without counteroffers that at least give you an idea of what the seller whants for the item. It's without a doubt the most fustrating, waste of time on ebay.|||Several times I have run out of offers on a best offer situation and been within 15% of the buy it now price. What is your first offer? 50%? I think most Sellers that do the Best offer are looking for "reasonable" offers. Have your first offer be 80%, second 85%, 3rd at 90% If they still don't accept, take the hint and pay full price if you want it. .Delivery Confirmation is confirmation of delivery, not tracking.|||It is BEST Offer. That doesn't mean trying to get the cheapest possible price. it means you offer the MOST you are willing to pay, and if that isn't enough for the seller, then you should walk away. You should never offer less than 90%.|||OP..please don't take offense to this, I am just doing it for your own good... RESPONCE is spelled response NEGOCIATION is spelled negotiation||||||James... Ecaxtly is spelled EXACTLY!! LOL!!!|||Isn't the point of the best offer system, the ability to work out a price with the seller through negociation. nope, it's a forum where you can make the best offer and seller can accept/reject/counter offer. but it's not a place to waste a sellers time. most i know have it set to auto reject low offers. make your best offer the first time and if rejected walk away. and correcting some's spelling is never "to help them" , lol. it's always to rub their nose in .......it i'm the worst speller around ,|||and correcting some's spelling is never "to help them" , lol. it's always to rub their nose in .......it if nose rubbing is what you want to call it, then go ahead...I just said what everyone is thinking...It drives me crazy when adults can't spell. Personal pet peeve of mine and I have no problem letting the world know....I'm sure you have pet peeves too and have made them known to others as I have here.|||easier to just ignor than "correct" others. unless you think it makes you look better. but to most on these boards it's get you either ignored or your posts reported. I just said what everyone is thinking i'd doubt 99.999999% even saw it. And no one else complained. most will ignor , it's not something anyone i know on these boards would comment on.|||From the other side of the table, the automated response is useful because as a seller I can provide buyers who send offers an immediate response. If the offer is within a reasonable range, you win right away. If all offers had to be replied to personally, it could be a few hours before I even see your offer, since eBay is a part-time venture for me in an otherwise hectic schedule. (I think this is true for many sellers, BTW.) FWIW, I don't necessarily agree that you always need to offer 90%, 80%, etc. of an asking price. If I can still profit, and especially if I've had the item listed for awhile, I'm likely to accept an offer. However, selling mostly used items, the point where I can still profit varies a lot from one item to the next. Some sellers, and some categories, are going to have a thinner margin to work with. You also need tp consider the time spent acquiring inventory, listing it here, and covering all the fees from eBay and Paypal. It can easily cost several dollars just in fees alone to simply list an item. That said, I don't think it hurts to make a lower offer, however, if you ONLY send reallylowball offers, your odds of having them accepted are probably not going to be as good whether they're declined automatically or they're declined manually.|||It's without a doubt the most frustrating, waste of time on ebay when bidders don't make their best offer the first time. If ebay goes back to the original 1 best offer instead of 3 try to kick me or insult me offers I might use it more.||||||I guess I don't agree that your best offer should be within 90% of the BIN. What about the "sale" practice where an item is reduced 30% or 50% by the seller. Last week I made a best offer on an item I have been watching for weeks. The had only one more day on the 3o day listing and had been unable to sell it. Item was 11.99 with 9.95 shipping, both high amounts for the item IMO. I offered $5.25 and my offer was accepted.Whatever will be will be ..|||Yes, sometimes the best offer function is ridiculous. I did one (made an offer) one time on a $45.00 item. It did not accept my offer until I was within $1.43. On the other hand, I have made $80.00 offers on $140.00 items and been accepted. Just yesterday I counter-offered a $75.00 offer on a $109.00 B.I.N. I had running, and accepted $85.00.|||I agree on this with you OP. I usually bargain before i buy and %90 of the sellers price doesn't mean good bargaining. However if the sellers price is honest, i don't bargain at all.
refund process
I bought an item and received it this week. The auction stated that the item was tested and working, it also states no returns. When I received the item it does not work. The item is a combustable gas detector and requires special rechargable batteries which costs 50 bucks to replace and the batteries in the item are dead and corroded. Which leads me to believe it wasn't tested as stated. I sent the seller an email threw ebay and explained the situation. He stated that I should ship the item back and he would offer a refund. He sent this message threw my yahoo email and not threw the ebay messaging. Also in his message he stated that he never used this, which also leaves me to believe he never tested it like his ad says. My question is how would you go about this return? I have this feeling in my gut like I am going to get the short end of the deal. The fact that he sent me a message outside ebay gives me a bad feeling. Also he has 10 negative feedbacks in the last month, should have not bought from him after reading that but he sells a lot and also has a lot of good feedback. One of his negatives says "got it and didnt work "tested and working" ...NOT!! bad seller, no contact" and another says "Didn't work, returned per agreement, did not refund". This last negative concerns me about getting ripped off. From what I understand ebay won't recognize his email to me stating he will refund because it was sent threw yahoo and not threw the ebay messaging system? Should I file a claim or email back asking him to email threw ebay? I'm just trying to make sure that I do everything I can to prevent him from receiving the item back and then not refunding me like one of his negatives says. Thanks for any advice, Scott|||File the SNAD & ship back with Delivery Confirmation# to show ebay/PP & you'll get your refund back. Remember you have 60 days to leave FB for this transaction & only 45 days to file the claim. IMO don't email them unless its thru the message system & tell them you can only get responses from them thru ebay as well.|||File the SNAD claim right away then send the item back with delivery confirmation. This is a must because it is proof to paypal and ebay that you sent it back. Don't respond to the seller at all. Let the process work.|||File the SNAD dispute with Paypal as stated above. Only communicate with the seller via the dispute console. Escalate the dispute to a claim within 10 days after filing, no matter what or if the seller responds. Paypal will give you instructions of how and where to return the item with delivery confirmation. Give Paypal the D/C # and await your refund of item price and the original S&H There is no such thing as "No returns" when Paypal is used.|||Look here for filing the SNAD dispute with Paypal Link|||Thanks for the advice everyone. I filed a claim with paypal. Paypal didn't say to ship the item back, just said they will notify me when seller responds. Do I ship it back right away or should I wait till paypal tells me to ship it? Thanks, Scott|||Thanks for the advice everyone. I filed a claim with paypal. Paypal didn't say to ship the item back, just said they will notify me when seller responds. Do I ship it back right away or should I wait till paypal tells me to ship it? Thanks, Scott|||Pay pal has to give the seller 7 days to respond to the dispute and try to make right. Do not send until they tell you to. I have to admit I am having a hard time feeling for you. You admit to knowing about this sellers horrible feedback.... Link In this thread, you ask the OP why they waited 5 months to receive an item clearly acknowledging their stupidity..(which were my sentiments also)So, now I have to ask you, why bid on an item which had 10 negatives that you knew of? You even admit one said the item didn't work... Link I'm sorry, but I guess I just don't get the thought process some people go through when justifying a purchase...|||"Thanks for the advice everyone. I filed a claim with paypal. Paypal didn't say to ship the item back, just said they will notify me when seller responds. Do I ship it back right away or should I wait till paypal tells me to ship it? Thanks, Scott" I guess you did not read the selle'rs feedback OR Post #3 which tells you exactly what and when to do it.|||I did read post 3, I also read post 1 and 2 which both stated "file a claim and ship back the item" Was just double checking since I don't go threw this stuff everyday Thank you|||I did read the sellers feed back and I also did admit that I should have hit the back button after reading it. But I didn't and guess I hoped I would be one of the many positive feedbacks. Guess I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and now I"m paying for it. Yes I did take a chance and it didn't pan out, now I am trying to take care of the situation using the paypal process designed for these reasons. And there is a difference between buying something and receiving it and trying to take care of the problem and waiting 5 months for something to arrive. In my opinion there is a big difference. Maybe I was foolish for buying from a seller with a 97.9 feed back. Guess I will only buy from sellers with a 100% feedback and perfect stars, which would rule out most sellers on ebay.|||Also not asking anyone to "feel" for me. Just trying to learn the process of returning something. I took the chance on this seller and I will deal with it, just was looking for some advice on the right way to handle it. Thanks You|||And there is a difference between buying something and receiving it and trying to take care of the problem and waiting 5 months for something to arrive. In my opinion there is a big difference. Are you joking? No difference at all. Both cases could have had easy resolutions...Yours was to not bid in the first place seeing the MANY red doughnuts before hand, and the buyer who waited 5 months for the item to arrive simply could have filed an INR after 45 days and had all of their money refunded.|||Don't let the crabby ones ruin your day. When you send back the item, be sure to get Delivery confirmation on it to prove the seller got it. If it cost more than $249 you must have Signature Confirmation. The process takes time but you will get your money back.|||Pretty in Pink, I agree with you and have stated numerous times that I did take a chance and I should have walked away after reading the feedback. I'm not asking anyone to feel sorry for me, just was asking about the refund process. I bought the item and now am working threw the process of returning it. The difference between this situation and the other one is I didn't wait around for 5 months before asking, I asked the day after I got it. I've had bad experiences at local stores, doesn't mean that I won't shop there. Point being is I bought an item that was said tested and works, it wasn't so now I will return it. I didn't buy an item and wait half a year and ask about a refund. Even most local stores don't refund after 5 months. Thank you to everyone that provided helpful suggestions on the return process.
Returned Item waiting for pick up-resolution center behind on case details.
I purchased a New in package Garmin Nuvi GPS on Nov. 27th. Seller offered free shipping, and sent item in a bubble envelope. The touch screen wasn't working in some spots. The seller states she doesn't accept returns, so I went to resolution center and filed a INAD. Resolution center case states they are reviewing the case, will get back to us in 48 hours. After waitng 10 days and still no response from resolution center I sent them a message asking when could we expect a resolution. They sent an email telling me to send the item back, and sent me printable postage to do so. I sent the item off using their lable. The item has reached it's destination, and is waiting for pick up. (The seller has a PO Box) The resolution center case details have not changed, still state they will get back to us in 48 hours, and just this morning I got an email stating the case will automatically close in five days. I again sent an email to ebay letting them know the item has been returned. Can the seller just not pick up the item and I get left with no money, and no item? Ebay is really behind on this, and I am getting real nervous that I may be out $144.00.|||Pay pal actually provided you with the printable label? That I have never heard of. Learn something new everyday. Although they provided it to you, you now need to type in the label number in the resolution center to prove it has been delivered. They themselves do not take the time to follow the tracking of every package. You have to do this for them. It doesn't matter if the recipient didn't pick it up. As long as it shows it has been delivered to his pay pal address, you should be good. Have you tried calling anyone at pay pal. Sometimes that gets the ball rolling....|||The OP filed with Ebay, they provided the label.||||||Ebay is not behind on this , you are! You need to escalate the dispute to a claim and provide Ebay with the Delivery Confirmation number proving the item was returned. It does not matter if the seller picks up the package or not. Paypal and Ebay will refund the buyer , even if a seller refuses or fails to pick up the package. Stop communicating with the seller and only communicate via the dispute console. Your seller thinks if he strings you along , does not pack up the package he will win the dispute. He/she is dead wrong. GO to the dispute resolution page, provide the D/C # and state the seller is refusing to pick up the package at his PO box. If you do not do this Ebay will auto close the dispute and you will get nothing. The seller is hoping the dispute closes before the PO sends the unit back to you as not picked up. Here is the New Ebay Buyer protection policy. Follow the proper procedure and escalate the resolution to an actual claim to get your refund! If the buyer is satisfied, the case is closed. If we don't hear back from the buyer within an appropriate time, we won't refund them or hold the seller accountable for the transaction. If the buyer is still working with the seller or does not respond, we'll check back in another week.If the buyer informs eBay that no resolution has been reached, eBay will review the case. If we find "item not received" cases in the buyer's favor, eBay will refund the cost of the item and original shipping to the buyer. If we resolve "item not as described" cases in the buyer's favor, we will in most circumstances ask the buyer to return the item to the seller which will be at the buyer's expense (unless eBay opts to pay for return shipping). Once the item has been returned to the seller, eBay will refund the cost of the item and original shipping to the buyer. Refunds will be made with a PayPal credit. Buyers with an active PayPal account will simply log in to PayPal to claim the refund. Buyers without a PayPal account will be asked to create one with their eBay registered email address to claim the refund. Full details on PayPal accounts can be found in the PayPal User Agreement. If in the unlikely event we are unable to send refunds to a PayPal account, we may provide refunds in another form, including a voucher redeemable for purchases on eBay. Refunds will not be made in any other manner. Contact Ebay via the dispute console now!|||I am reading more and more about eBay paying return shipping on SNAD claims. What's the deal with sellers backing out of sale?
My hubby and I have purchased 2 items on ebay since the 1st of the year - paid for the items, then receive an email from the seller saying "sorry". What's up with that? What happened to the contract aspect of buying something? Doesn't it work the same way for the seller?|||It is supposed to. All you can do is file a non-performing seller report at this Link~ Lucy ~ Guide to eBay Board AcronymsClick on for links to Help Pages for a new eBayer|||I'm assuming they did not write back and offer an explanation? Meaning the item probably did not bring the amount of money they hoped for vs. some kind of snafu like it was sold to someone else, misplaced, etc? The first annoys me. I've had a few items close at a low enough price where I actually lost a small amount of money by selling and shipping. I still followed through and sent the items. I could understand the occasional "Oops"/misplaced/listed in error thing happening though.|||While there is a valid sale contract made, which you could take to court if you wanted to, in reality eBay cannot force a seller to honor the sale. Your best options are to file the report as noted in post #2, and leave appropriate feedback. If the seller doesn't voluntarily refund, you can also file an Item Not Received dispute to get your money back.friends Director,|||Hope that you get a seller that will explain..with a good explanation. When it happens to me, if the seller is very apologetic, refunds immediately and takes the item down off his listings, I do not fuss about it. If he doesn't refund quickly or continues to list the item for sale, then i get mad and report.|||Even if the seller refunds your money, you can still file a NonPerformingSeller report. Just as an Unpaid Item Dispute puts a Strike on a buyer, a NPS puts a mark on the seller. You can also leave appropraite feedback and Detailed Seller Ratings. Since you did not ever see the item you can leave no rating for As Described, and Shipping Fee, while rating the transaction a ONE for communication and delivery time.|||how can you rate delivery time when the item was never shipped? Just sayin'|||I've never had a seller do this to me but I've read countless posts by buyer who had this problem. I don't buy anything on eBay that would be dropshipped so perhaps that is why I've never encountered the situation.... If the seller refunds and apologizes immediately I might not report him for NPS but if they are just jacking me around because it didn't get bid as high as they want I'd file. I think out of stock is a better excuse then it didn't bid as high as I want....|||Thanks for the link.|||I don't know what a 'drop shipment" is but i don't think these items would qualify for that. I have had to cancel one time because when I was packing up the dish it dropped and broke. I was mortified and afraid my buyer was going to give me bad feedback. I did appologize and gave a full explanation luckily I had an understanding buyer. I personally would move on and look for the item elsewhere. The only time I would be less than happy is if I had to ask for my money back. A seller should give your money back immediately. I am just the type of person who sees good in others and unless I have proof I would never file a report just because I THINK they backed out because they didn't get enough money. If the seller is not using an actual photo of the item and using a "stock photo" from a catalog/ manufactuer, then 9 times out of 10 they are drop shipping the item. Since the seller does not have the actual item to photograph or in hand, it is very common for the item to be "out of stock, discontinued or on back order" after the Ebay auction ends. This is in direct violation of the Selling Practices policy Link A selling practices policy report and the NON Performing Seller report should be filed here Link It really does not matter, if the seller did not get "enough for the item or they are out of stock", they are not able to deliver the item to the buyer and should be reported. question for the dvd gods - are promo sets legal/legit?
Hi - I've been waiting impatiently for the next installment of a favorite Showtime series to be sold on dvd. As it was not available on Amazon, I gave ebay a shot. What I'm finding are a small number of "promo sets". They all appear to have been watched 1 or 2 times. Has anyone here purchased a promo set in the past? Do you know if I should have any concerns about the legality of buying any? Anything else you think one should know? Thanks in advance.|||Perfectly legal. Be aware that promo copies often feature plain/generic packaging, and not the final (retail) art. ;^)|||And if they're screening copies they may have the company logo flashed on the screen several times throughout the show.|||Thanks bunches for the replies. Seller went crazy!
I want to justify this by saying that I screwed up and I admit to the error and take full responsibility for it. I was bidding on several hard drives about a month ago and ran a snipe on one item. I won the item and did not receive notification about it. Apparently the emails were in the yahoo spam folder and I did not follow up on things very well and missed that I won the item. I did not log in to eBay for a couple weeks and when I finally did I found that an unpaid item claim had been filed against me. OK, I screwed up. Now I felt I needed to make things right since I know the seller lost money on this. I emailed the seller a very polite apology and offered to pay the fees they lost as a result of my not paying. I also tell him that I am not interested in having the strike reversed. My only concern is that I make him whole for his losses. The response from baltag Yeah right! Trying to cause more problems I see! So I am thinking that if I call this guy and express my sincere apology and let him know that I am not some numpty non paying bidder and would like to compensate for his losses maybe he will not be so upset. I thought that if he heard me on the telephone he would hear the sincerity of my concern for his losses and the sincerity of my remorse. I call his contact number, get a lady that I assume is his wife and have a very nice conversation with her and apologize to her for him. She was very polite and understanding and stated that she would relay my message to him and he would call me back when he returned. About an hour later he called me and I very cheerfully greeted with a "Good Afternoon" The guy went ballistic! Started yelling at me and never gave me another chance to speak! Screamed at me why I called his home! I tried to answer that I was calling his eBay contact number and he cut me off and refused to give me a chance to finish my sentence! Screamed at me who I thought I was to mess with his listings! When I tried to explain that I made a mistake he refused to let me finish the answer that I was not trying to mess with his listings, otherwise this would not have bothered me to the point of attempting to fix it. won item, arrived broke, seller refunded 1/2 paypal holding full amount?
so i won an item for $19.74 shipped, paid and it got here broke, talked to the seller they refunded everything but shipping which I was fine with$9.99. wake up today and see there is another 19.74 being held from my paypal account? so not only did I already pay 19.74 but did get a 9.99 refund, paypal is holding another 19.74 and im not the seller im the buyer! any ideas? Resolution in my favor with nothing to ship back
I had a conflict with a seller. The short of it is: he sent me electronic gift certificate for what was supposed to be an item. Anyway, Ebay resolved the case in my favor. They offer me two choices on the resolution center: give a tracking number or close the case. Since there is nothing to ship back i can't give a tracking number. if I close the case, aren't I saying this issue is resolved. I emailed the seller and asked for my refund, but now they aren't answering, of course. I'm not sure what to do next.|||"electronic gift certificate" It sounds like Paypal does not realize this is a digital delivery/electronic email gift certificate which I do not believe is allowed or covered by Paypal's buyer protection. That was years ago. I think eBay is much safer these days, but you have to be responsible for your own shopping decisions. It seems to me you need to do a better job picking sellers and items. Read and re-read listings. Check out your sellers carefully. Avoid absurd bargains; they don't exist. Start by shopping at home. Avoid electronics and purchases from China. Be very careful with jewellry; a lot of it is cheap junk as reflected in the price. Use the ASQ option to clarify any questions you have about a potential purchase. Always use Paypal and never forget the 45 day deadline for filing claims. Read the Paypal rules to protect yourself. I have had good luck with smaller sellers. WINNING BIDS
Hi: On auction number 270552389600, I made a bid. Later, someone came in and made the same bid. The later person was declared the winner and bought the merchandise. How can someone else come in behind someone and win the auction. This is a technique I need to understand. THANKS JIm|||They didn't bid after you. They bid before you. Because they are on top doesn't mean those bids came later but they are winning. You need to look at the time stamp next to the bids to determine bidding order. They bid Mar. 31 at 01:54:51 and you bid more than 12 hours after them at 14:18:47. there been alot of confusion with new bidders lately over this. Remember the list doesn't go in bid order but in whos got the winning bid stays on top. You can have multple bidders that bid after a person who put in a high proxy bid and it looks like they actually bid first if you just look at the list order but you need to look at the time stamp that is listed with each bid. Tie bids go to whoever bid first. Most people will add a few cents instead of bidding in round numbers to help try breaking a possible tie.

There was an experience . I sold items to spain last month .Items cost USD 510.00 , the buyer tell me to send the items as 20 packages , so the real value for each package should be usd 25.50 /package , It is the buyer that ask for small package , not me . I said why . He replies that :" kindly please send the items as small packages , it will make me low customs fee . " I don't know if it is ok , but I think the buyer know better about the rules at their local . The only I can do was sending the items as per buyer instruction , But I added an invoice on each package .
bid increment question
Hello I would like the experts here to comment if I were to place a bid simultaneously with another bidder @ the end of an auction (snipping) with my bid being higher but not by the increment amount, who win? Thanks PF|||It depends on the current bid showing, that is the only amount you have to beat by a full increment. Say the current amount is $5.00, you bid $7.05 and another person bids $7.00, you'd win because your $7.05 beat the current amount showing by a full increment.|||I always toss in some odd change to make it harder for that to happen like the scenario above. {orange_peel_6} I think op is looking to find out about 2 bidders same amount same time. I'm kind of new myself and have not seen a thread with an answer. Would you be so kind as to elaborate for us. I figured if they break it down further say to the millisecond or more. I really don't know how far ebay breaks sec. down to. This would lessen the odds of an actual tie happening due to chances of tie (simultaneous time and bid amount) . Example~~last seconds of auction someone bids $7.50 and it is recorded as the high bid. You have entered a bid of $7.60 but it comes in after the $7.50 is recorded as the high bid~~you haven't bid a full increment above that $7.50 so your bid doesn't even count.|||The system won't allow you to bid less than the next increment. That's why on the bidding screen it gives you a minimum amount to bid.|||That's what I meant~~if the $7.50 bid was recorded and she bid $7.60 her bid wouldn't even register as she wouldn't have entered a bid at or above the increment required.|||I do need to clarify on the example I gave before. The $7.60 would have been a legit bid IF the other bidders $7.50 bid was a proxy bid. The only way the $7.60 bid would win is if the bidding went over $7.25~~then the 25 cent increment would have knocked out the $7.50 bid and put it into the $7.60 bidders ballpark.|||Hi: On an auction the other day I made a bid and someone else came in later and made the same bid as mine and the auction was given to him even though you can see that mine was first. Why was the second bid even allowed. This is a technique I don't understand. But it's there to see. Anyone can look up the "bids" and see mine and his are the same. The auction was given to him. Why. Jim auction number 270552389600|||Another way to say all this is: If two bids come simultaneously (for discussion), and as long as both are above the currently recorded bid in increment required, the highest of those two wins even if the higher one is not above the lower one's next required increment that would have otherwise been recorded had it otherwise beat the 2nd simultaneous bidder. The only 'disconnect' with this, is the fact these are 'recorded' to the nanosecond. In that case, it is possible that bidder 1's bid gets 'recorded' before bidder 2's bid is received, thus #2 winds up losing because it then doesn't beat the current (new #1's) bid increment.--------------------------------- Sometimes I wonder if the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on, or by imbeciles who really mean it. - - Mark Twain|||Hi: Thanks for your comment. In my case, my bid was a considerable time before the second and the second, later bid was the one given the winner status. Mine and his were both listed under "bids." I don't get it. thanks Jim|||His bid would have been recorded at the same amount as yours BUT he may have bid with a proxy amount making his bid higher than yours but getting the item for the same price you bid. If you both tied timewise for the winning bid he may have actually bid $10.00 higher than you~making him the winner. I know~~it's hard to understand.|||jrush, I answered your question on your thread. You did not bid before the other person. You in fact bid more than 12 hours later than they did. Because there name is on top doesn't mean they bid after you. Winning bids stay on top. You need to look at the time stamp next to the bid and not of the list order. List order is not the order the bids came in. tie bids go to the winner.

Most people don't get the vpp because in small print you need to inspect car and alot of buyers here buy sight unseen so they are automatically disqualified from this protection.|||We've sold a few consigned vehicles here over the years. In only one case did the buyer 'trust' to wire funds prior to inspection, but of course it all worked out well for them too. Of course, we'd never knowingly misrepresent the vehicle, but also reasonably realize buyers have no way to ensure that. We require a good faith deposit prior to any final payment arrangements, which normally result in either wire transfer after/upon completing an inspection prior to any delivery, or cash or certified check (we can verify in real time) on pickup. Deposits are refundable if on inspection the vehicle is found to be misrepresented. We actively encourage inspection prior to either offering or payment. We think all sellers should. However, it's on the buyer to arrange for that, and given any associated logistics, it's the buyer's call whether that's cost effective for them. Good advice previously offered regarding potential escrow or third party certification which can reduce that buyer's cost accordingly. If your 'dealer' won't accept that, it's reasonable to conclude that may indicate potential problem. If I buy an item using paypal, is that suposed to be a multi step process? Do I confirm the buy in EBay and then need to go to the paypal site and release or send the payment? I bought some bracelets that were pictured and described as solid sterling silver and were indeed stamped with "925". I bought them with the intent not to wear them but to cut them apart and incorporate them into my own jewelry. Guess what, when I cut into the metal, it was brass PLATED with silver! I contacted the seller who professed to have no knowledge of this and that their "factory" told them it was silver. They offered a refund, but when I asked if I could exchange them for real silver, they said that everything from their "factory" is the same. Again, they offered a refund and a discount on future purchases. eBay Buyer Protection protects sellers . . . Insurance useless to us!
Bought two Lilliput Lane houses (fragile) from a seller with 100% FB of 1800+. Looked like a good transaction waiting to happen. Houses listed as NEW and MINT. We specially requested good packing. Insurance was included in the shipping cost. Received houses in good time, packed decently. Both chipped, one badly. Definitely not new. but we can't say for sure whether they were chipped before or during shipment. No problem. File a PO insurance claim. That's why we paid for it, isn't it? Guess again buyers. You can only file a claim if you have certain information from the seller's receipts (fees paid, transaction number, etc.). Our seller said that it wasn't her problem and that we should file our own claim. Repeatedly refused to send scanned copies of the receipt information OR even just e-mail the necessary information. Our Postmaster is stunned but helpless. Says that without the required information we can't even prove that the package was insured. After two weeks of her refusing to either file the claim or send the required transaction number, we opened a dispute with PayPal/eBay. Guess what? The seller immediately escalated it to a claim. eBay's final decision . . . If we ship the items back to the seller, we will receive a refund for "all or part" of the original purchase price LESS the original shipping LESS the cost of returning the items. She files a PO insurance claim and gets a refund. Huh??? Where's the Buyer Protection in that? We end up paying $18 for the privilege of looking at two chipped houses? Why should it cost us even $1 more, when we paid for shipping insurance to cover this possibility? So, lessons learned. But we'll never buy shipping insurance again. And we'll keep the chipped houses on the computer desk to remind us NOT to bid again on eBay.|||Insurance is for the seller's protection. They are required to get us the item in the described manner. Only the return shipping is on you. Insurance is between the seller and the shipper. Buyers should not pay for it nor have to start the claim process though they should produce the package for inspection.|||My guess is the seller didn't buy the insurance.|||Our seller said that it wasn't her problem and that we should file our own claim. Despite other issues, this is incorrect. The insurance paid for the shipment is for their own protection and is on the seller to recoup. Reasonable buyers might allow the seller time to recoup this from the insurance claim, so those funds can be then refunded to the buyer. They (as stated) should also be willing to cooperate with the claim process so damages can be proved to the carrier. This helps expedite the process. But there's no requirement to do so in the end. But NEVER should it be the buyer's responsibility to make this claim unless they decide to buy their OWN insurance independent of the transaction. Where such insurance costs are NOT paid VIA the seller. Pattern of inflated shipping a crisis
Here's a big buying problem that I've reported numerous times. Ebay sellers ,all too often, restrict shipping options to priority mail for items that can ship for considerably lower cost via 1st class mail or media mail. There's a big pattern of this going on ebay for a long time now and buyers end of paying more to ship items than they should have to. This presents an opportunity for sellers to scam and pocket some of the shipping money by inflating the shipping cost that they themselves state. And why not since they have a good excuse for the high shipping which is that it's going out by priority mail. I did think to myself why they wouldn't just state express mail and do the same thing but if there was a pattern of this with express mail then it would be too noticeable and raise a red flag. So priority mail is the next best thing and would be more likely to be overlooked. My suggestion and request to ebay is to require sellers to state one shipping option for fast shipping and also one option for cheap/cheapest shipping. Now with this, buyers can have a choice as to how fast they get the item or to save as much money as they can when they're not in a hurry to receive the item. Or, require sellers to have ,at least, one option for cheap/cheapest shipping since they're already in the habit of stating fast shipping. Buyers need to save money nowadays and paying more than is needed to ship an item that qualifies for a different shipping method is inexcusable. This aspect is very important to the quality of the buying experience on ebay. Thank you.|||Priority shipping is the standard these days. Media is too slow for most people. With parcel, things get damaged more often and that threatens a sellers DSRs and selling ability. Sellers have the right to set any shipping they want. The only time it should be an issue is if they promise one way and ship another. Other than that, you get to agree and buy, or move on.|||Buying or not buying is not a crisis, a matter of life & death, health, survival. You are being a drama queen. A buyer has the terms of a purchase laid out in the listing: Buy Price Shipping Method & Cost for such. Don't like the total due ? Don't buy. A Seller who offers a service, e.g. Priority, does so for a no. of reasons: 1) Delivery Time 2) Ability to buy postage online A faster service, Priority, is for the benefit of buyer & seller. Hopefully, carrier delivers quickly. Hopefully, buyer leaves a 5 star rating for shipping. Hopefully. A buyer who wants cheap shipping often forgets this. Then, they blame the seller, leave a 1 star as the item took 10 days to arrive, battered by truck travel. The seller gets higher fees, lower search placement, restrictions, suspension. There is no reason a seller, as a business person, MUST change their designated method of shipping to suit a buyer who wants to save money. That buyer can ASK, the seller can say, SORRY, NO. The buyer can shop someplace else. How would YOU like a customer telling YOU how to run your business ?|||I use nothing but Priority, if I use another method...I will probably get b*tched at, that it is too slow! Call the Post Office and complain or hit the back button!"Well, I never heard it before, but it sounds uncommon nonsense." Mock Turtle|||I don't understand where anyone can dictate to a seller what shipping method is used. So many buyers ding a sellers DSRs because it took 2 weeks to arrive yet they knew it was going out media mail. This is why sellers don't like to use media mail. If an option was left everyone would chose the cheapest method but expect the fastest service. Being a seller is not easy and dealing with buyers who do nothing but complain is even worse. If the total price of the item is a good deal who cares how much of it is for shipping and how much it is for the item. Way to many people are putting so much pressure on sellers when it comes to shipping that it makes me want to quit selling. There are obvious gougers out there but an extra buck for shipping does cover materiels. Be a responsible buyer and grow up.This is a posting ID to help fight against AI or RLI. I have no agenda other than to express my opinion, which is just that, an Opinion.|||For many items, including ours, Priority Mail is the most cost-effective way to ship. If the total price is too high, don't bid or buy. Sellers are on the hook to ensure that the item is delivered in as-described condition. Speed of delivery is also a consideration of many buyers; who usually, and understandably want their items delivered within a week or so. Therefore less expensive services, such as Parcel Post or Media Mail, are often not good choices for a seller to offer.friends Director,|||Buyers complain when it takes too long.
